Alliance Business Centre and the Art Bank
A space is never truly finished until it has its own personality. As we moved into our new offices, the space is beautiful, industrial, modern and a leap forward for the future of our company. It is a crown jewel that has been developing for the past 70 years. As we have made the space our own over the past few weeks of having the entire team in, it was time to add some individuality to the walls and departments that works to define areas and adds just a bit more. As much as the space can speak for itself, the need for a little more was apparent.
We decided to then have the Canadian Council for the Arts come in with their suggestions and collection. They have delivered some beautiful pieces from Canadian artists and photographers, using different methods and created truly unique spaces for our team. This service, a public service allows for a database of Canadian art to be showcased in Government buildings and corporate offices. This allows for energy to be brought into the space, created conversation starters for our team members, and allows for us to refresh our space when we feel a change is needed.
We chose to work with the Art Bank because highlighting local and Canadian artists is important to us, this new space feels a bit like a gallery now, and the works are specific to Alliance. We will have pieces coming Kingston Glassworks shortly, and it ties everything together. Some pieces are polarizing, which allows for debate between individuals and departments. Art is meant to spark conversation and this partnership has once again enhanced our space and brought our team together.
The quality of the work that now hangs in our common spaces, adaptability in what we’ve decided on as nothing is permanently placed here, allowing for us to change up pieces within the contract, and work with the Art Bank to continue to have a curated collection that helps to allow us to communicate who we are without saying a word. Other offices have run campaigns that allowed for their team to select which pieces they were to choose, allowing for additional engagement, which may be an opportunity for us in the future.
For more information on the Art Bank and the work that they do you can find them on their Facebook page. We are excited to showcase our pieces over the next few weeks while we celebrate our Grand Opening and Open House, as well as continuing this relationship that makes the space far more dynamic.
